Petite Arvine du Valais “Johannestrunk” AOC Valais 2025
Johanniterkellerei Kuonen & Grichting AG
The Petite Arvine is the great Valais white wine with an international reputation. It is a rare and precious pearl. The exact origin is unknown. Wine and vine researchers do not agree on whether only the name or also the grape variety was brought to Valais by the Romans. Although it has a genetic affinity with certain grape varieties from the Aosta Valley and neighbouring France, it has been considered an exclusive Valais speciality since 1602. Today, Arvine is considered an autochthonous variety, a grape variety that occurs exclusively in Valais. The Petite Arvine calls for the very best plots, but they must not be too dry. Its fine, melting and delicate berry flesh gives the wine an inimitable typicality of the highest refinement.
